Participants are expected to find their own accommodations for the first two nights of the summer school in Helsinki (August 14–16). Any location in central Helsinki and by metro and tram lines is good. Living costs in Finland are generally comparable to those in Western Europe.
The accommodation during the workshop (16–26 August) in the case study city of Pori is included in the participation fee. It is organized by the hosting city. Please note, that the accommodation is in shared rooms. The accommodation in the case study city is reserved until the morning of August 26.
Participants pay for their travel costs to Finland (Helsinki) and cover their local travel and living expenses during their stay in Finland.
Travel costs to the case study city and the excursion travel costs are included in the course fee. Possible transport during guided tours is included in the course fee.
The participants pay for their own meals during the summer school. The price of a meal varies a lot. You can spend anything from around 8 euros upwards, depending on your budget. Shopping for daily groceries follows a general Western European average.
It is highly advisable to bring your own laptop with you, as the summer school is not able to provide computers for your use.
We are unfortunately not in the position to grant any scholarships or other subsidies. You might have a chance of obtaining some allowances or scholarships from your own university, a non-profit foundation in your home country, or any international cooperation program supporting student exchange. The possible allowances will not affect the selection of participants in any way.
Practical Work Training / Internship
We do not have any possibilities to arrange any sort of additional employment in connection with the summer school.
